UAL Short Courses Appoint Other Media to Streamline Online Sales

Other Media are delighted to announce their appointment by UAL Short Courses Ltd to design and develop an ecommerce solution to streamline the sale of courses delivered by UAL Short Courses Ltd and Language Centre, both of which are part of University of the Arts London (UAL), in order to provide a superior ecommerce experience.

About UAL

UAL is amongst the world’s leading universities for Art and Design with graduates going on to work in and shape creative industries worldwide. As well as an extensive programme of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, UAL also offers short courses in general English and modern languages, over 2,000 other short courses to more than 20,000 students each year and a range of English Plus Art and Design courses. These courses are all delivered through the University’s 6 colleges and the Language Centre.

About the project

Recent consultation work identified the need to provide a better ecommerce experience for customers arriving at the short course pages right the way through the purchase funnel. Better SEO efforts and integration with the existing University website is also required to drive more visitors to the short course pages.
Other Media won a multi-way pitch process to define, design and implement a new platform that will support the efforts of UAL to provide a world-class customer experience for UAL Short Courses and the Language Centre.
This project represents a progressive step by the University, recognising that prospective students have high expectations of the ecommerce experience. As such, taking significant steps to improve the process of finding, choosing and booking short courses and language courses online is bringing UAL into the realms of the world-leading ecommerce agents. Organisations like Amazon and Google set the user’s expectations and it’s up to everyone else to ensure that they meet those high expectations. UAL are taking charge of their digital portfolio and putting their customers, their students, first.
